How did it all started?
Welcome to my blog, where I share insights about my journey to classical music. In this first post I would like to tell more about how I started to study music. Because it all started quite far away from here...

I learn music from an early age but for quite a long time I was not planning to become a musician. When I was at the beggining of elementary school I started to study the recorder. After two years of recorder studies when my parents asked me what would I want to study my dream was to become a bassoonist. I think now that the main reason for that was that the Hungarian National Television's night outro for the children's section, the famous TV Maci or TV Teddy in English had a music where the bassoon was the most important instrument. I embed here the video of it:

Somehow at the end I've ended up playing the clarinet. I don't exactly remember why but someone, my parents or some teacher at the music school, told me that it's not possible at such a young age to play the bassoon because it's too big. This was of course a lie, because there are little bassoons for children but I was not aware of those little bassoons at that time so I've started to play the clarinet. Altough in my dreams I am still a bassoonist sometimes, the clarinet was not at all a bad choice. It was also my choice, the second option after the bassoon. If you'd ask, dear reader, why I wanted to study so much a wind instrument there is also an explanation for that: because I was asthmatic as a child and the doctors advised us that it would maybe have a good effect on my lungs to study a woodwind instrument. Luckily the asthma has disappeared, no one knows if it was because of the clarinet, but anyway I've ended up playing it. Here is a picture of me playing the clarinet:
